THE TEESSIDE FETTLERS

The Teesside Fettlers are one of the area's longest running and most successful folk entertainment bands.

Formed in the 1960's, they have performed across the UK at festivals, concerts and on radio and television. They sing mainly about Teesside and North Yorkshire, telling the story of the development of the region and the beautiful countryside that surrounds it. They guarantee an enjoyable experience of music, song and anecdotes.

Stewart McFarlane MBE, a singer of consummate power and sensitivity, leads the band. He is equally known for his work with the BBC both locally and nationally. The musicians Alan Helm (Accordion, Guitar and Electric Bass), Stan Gee (Banjo, Fiddle & Guitar) and Paul Ruane (Fiddle) are joined by Ron Marshall (Caller) for their Ceilidh and Barn Dance Evenings. The Group have many albums to their name; the latest "Noting the Changes" is available wherever they appear.

Stu McFarlane MBE, a broadcaster for over 30 years presents the Teesside Fettlers who have over 40 years experience of playing at venues, large and small around the UK from London's Albert Hall to Town Halls, Village Halls, Festivals, Golf Clubs and Private Functions.

Their origins are in the North East of England which is reflected in their five albums that are a mixture of traditional and contemporary songs and music charting the history and development of their native area.
